Genres

Hi there! Have you been wondering what all those genres mean and why I've sorted manga based on them. Well, here's some explanation for genres. So, let's make it short! (Or not...) Actually I've used same genres as Manga Fox has. You can read manga from there BTW. Other good page is Maga Reader but the first one is better in my opinion. It has more manga. Anyway, here's the explanations alphapethically.

Action ~ Fast paced action, violaton and so on.
Adult ~ Mature containing. Intence violence or erotic action.
Adventure ~ Just like title says. Going around the world and exorcising things.
Comedy ~ Something that makes you laugh. :D
Doujinshi ~ some kind of fan-art inspired of some anime/manga by professionals.
Drama ~ Emotions are flowing! Something with strong emotions in it. Usually sad and serious.
Ecchi ~ Perverted things... Some sexy parts in it. Not nudity!
Fantasy ~ Going to some unreal world with magic and spells.
Gender Bender ~ From the girl to the boy or other way around. So it's all about changing geders.
Harem ~ "Hi, I'm a one normal boy who suddenly get a lot of girls around me and they all seem to be interested in me!" So you got the idea? One guy, many girls. One girl, many boys.
Historical ~ Story is based on some historical time or event. How is it in the past?
Horror ~ Scary thing with blood and corpses. Not for fragile people.
Josei ~ "Ladies comics". For women from 18 to 30. Usually story is about normal life of young woman from Tokyo or something like that.
Martial Arts ~ Fighting scenes by using karate, kendo, judo... whatever there is in martial arts.
Mature ~ Usually includes something that's not good for not under age of 17. Violence, sexual things, hard language etc.
Mecha ~ Has always something to do with large robotic machines.
Mystery ~ Some kind of detective stories are like that. Cases and riddles... what more? Unsolved murder?
One shot ~ Short story. Usually only one chapter.
Psychological ~ Philosophy and stage of mind. Hard concepts. May contain disturbing contents.
Romance ~ It's all about love! Young beautiful girl and handsome boy. What else you'd need than many clishe and romantic events. Ah~
School Life ~ School is a part of normal life. So that's a great stage for action and romance.
Sci-fi ~ Science fiction. Something to do with unnatural powers and the pace. Also many things with science and technology.
Seinen ~ For young men from 18 to 30. Opposite of Josei. Involves male heroes, honor things, humor etc.
Shoujo ~ Usually romantic, "girls manga".
Shoujo-ai ~ Even two girls can be together. What is it like when sweet love and tender kisses are sheared with same gender.
Shounen ~ "Boys manga". Usually includes action and humor.
Shounen-ai ~ Romance between two guys. Can also be called Bromance. Sweet things with same sex.
Slice of Life ~ Usually is based on normal people but can also be telling 'bout unnormal people. Usually some event of daily life.
Smut ~ Dirtry and pervy things. Contains especially sexually themes.
Sports ~ Everything is built around some sport.
Supernatural ~ Someting unnatural and unexpected. Includes mystical powers.
Tragedy ~ Something sad you can't survive without crying....
Webtoons ~ Internet manhwa in Korea. Web + Cartoon. (lol...)
Yaoi ~ Not for those under age of 18. Contains sex between two guys. "Boys love".
Yuri ~ Same here, mature containing. This time it's just two girls making out. "Girls love".
